Howard University School of Divinity has been outstanding in preparing students to provide professional, academic and spiritual leadership for more than a century.

Its program of study has long been distinguished by its commitment to nurturing and promoting academic excellence, spiritual formation and social involvement. Degree programs include Master of Divinity (In-Person and HyFlex*), dual degrees including Master of Divinity/Master of Social Work, Master of Divinity/Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Ministry (2-year online).

During America's recovery from the Civil War, Howard University emerged as a radical idea (the education of youth, most newly emancipated African Americans) and subsequent designated space for visionary teachers and enthusiastic learners to gather on the "hilltop" in the nation's capital. In the decades following, until today, Howard University has become a "Mecca" for the gathering of persons seeking imaginative solutions to the challenges of human life in America and throughout the world.  HyFlex is a nuanced course modality for this radical idea of education and intentional gathering.
